This is a WebApp designed to be used on the iPhone and the iPod Touch that let's you find out when objects like the International Space Station or the Hubble Space telescope will be visible from where you are.
It should work for most parts of the world with most populated towns and cities. If your place of residence is not working, try a nearby larger town or city. The times will be within a minute or two even for cities up to 100 miles away.
If you want to show support for LookUp, why not Digg it via this link or visit the creators blog Orbiting Frog.
The coloured dots after each transit in the list are an indicator of visibility.
A red dot
means that a pass is hard to see; either because it is low down in the sky, or it is quite faint.
Green dots
are reserved for very bright transits that are more than 20° above the horizon.
Orange dots
cover everything else.
You enter the city and country (or US state) of your choice and this is queried via the Google Maps API to return a latitude and longitude.
The latitude and longitude are used to query both the Heaven's Above website and EarthTools. The latter returns the correct time zone for the location. The former calculates the position of your chosen satellite and returns visible overhead transits. All this site does really is bundle it together into a handy package.
